The Sex Offender Registry Web Site is maintained by the Maine State Police, State Bureau of Identification and is intended to provide the public information concerning the location of registered offenders currently within Maine. To learn more about what information will be provided, please read the Frequently Asked Questions.

The Registry does not contain information on all individuals that have been convicted of sex crimes. Information is only provided for those individuals that are required to register pursuant to Title 34-A MRSA, Chapters 15 and 17. Registration is limited to those individuals sentenced for a qualifying offense. View More +

The State Bureau of Identification has received reports of multiple fraud attempts involving individuals contacting registrants claiming they must pay a fine for noncompliance or face jail time. We would like to remind website users and the public that although law enforcement officers do contact registrants for routine business, fines are only imposed by a court of law and law enforcement officers have no role in that process. Registrants who are contacted should hang up and report the incident to local law enforcement.
