The Town of Falmouth has an opening for a full-time Communications Officer. This position receives calls and dispatches requests for service for Falmouth and Yarmouth Public Safety Departments, as well as walk-in traffic to the police facility. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including both oral and written, and strong listening ability. Applicants must have excellent computer skills, be high school graduates or equivalent, must be able to pass a criminal background check (including polygraph and psychological examinations) and must have the ability to remain calm and maintain control in stressful situations. Hours will vary depending on the needs of the department and evenings, weekends and holiday work will be required.

 

The Falmouth Police Department is a highly professional and progressive agency. The Department will be transitioning to a 4 on 3 off schedule once the new position is filled and the person is trained.
