Route 1 Project - Weekly Update (4-7-15)

FALMOUTH ROUTE ONE INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT

Construction Update #35 – April 7, 2015

The following information reflects the latest available information regarding the Route One Infrastructure Project in Falmouth. Please note that forward-looking information is based upon projections and is subject to change due to weather and other variables.

WORK HOURS:

Work in the Route One Infrastructure Project zone for the remainder of this week – and, if necessary, next week – will begin at approximately 6:00 a.m. and last until approximately 4:30 p.m.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Moulison North will resume construction activities this week.  Their work will consist of installing underground conduits for service lines to the businesses for power and communications lines.

Central Maine Power, Fairpoint Communications, and Time Warner Cable contractors are also on site. They are placing cables inside the underground conduits in anticipation of converting the overhead utilities to underground.

As most businesses affected by the power/communications conversion have been contacted by the Town, the goal is to begin power/communications conversions in May and complete them by mid-June.

This will allow for demolition of the overhead utilities in June, as well as the completion of the project by July 1.

WORK YOU’RE LIKELY TO SEE THROUGH THE END OF THIS WEEK:

  • Moulison North will begin the secondary conduit lines, from transformer pads toward the businesses.  Work will begin at the southerly end of the project and work towards the north (FO Bailey, People’s United Bank, Morong, et cetera).

WORK YOU’RE LIKELY TO SEE THROUGH THE END OF APRIL:

  • Continued utility work by C.M.P., Fairpoint, Time Warner Cable, and Oxford Networks.
  • All remaining conduits for property services will be completed.
