Ad-Hoc Tercentennial Planning Committee
In January, 2015, the Town Council created an ad hoc Tercentennial Planning Committee to advise the Council on planning, funding, and implementation of event(s) to celebrate the Town’s 300th birthday in 2018. The Committee will have up to 7 town residents to serve as members and is charged to:
- Develop recommendations for event(s) to celebrate the Town’s tercentennial year and to promote Falmouth’s historic resources, such as participation in Historic Preservation Week. The Committee is encouraged to work in cooperation with the Falmouth Memorial Library, Falmouth Historical Society, Falmouth Schools, Greater Portland Landmarks, the Maine Historic Preservation Commission and other appropriate organizations.
- Provide status reports to the Town Council on a regular basis.
- The Committee shall offer a full report and recommendation to the Town Council, consistent with the purpose and goals of the Committee no later than February 1, 2016.
