2018.10.17 Browntail Moth Public Information Session

The Towns of Falmouth and Freeport, in conjunction with the Maine Forest Service, are sponsoring two public informational sessions on Browntail Moth Caterpillars. All residents of communities affected by Browntail Moths are welcome to attend either session.

The Falmouth session will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Falmouth Elementary School cafeteria at 58 Woodville Road. Presenters include Allison Kanoti from the Maine Forest Service, Marty Folsom, Senior Consulting Arborist from Lucas Tree, and Falmouth Town Manager Nathan Poore.

Topics to be discussed include: identifcation of Browntail Moth Caterpillars and their overwintering webs; precautions residents should take; and the pros and cons of various treatment options, including chemical applications. A question and answer period will also be offered.
