Hardy Road Conservation Area

Trails at Hardy Road Conservation Area are not on the digital map at this time as we have discovered errors and need to collect up to date trail data and republish it.  Trails currently marked on the property are the PondTrail (white) and Yellow Trail, both marked with blazes.  In addition, the Yellow Trail provides a connection to the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust Pride Preserve.  Preserve maps are at key intersections and wayfinding is excellent.

Location, Parking:  The property is located off Hardy Road about 1/2 mile from Blackstrap Road. There is a gravel parking area on Hardy Road.

Property Description:  The property consists of an old town landfill site and open space from the adjacent subdivision.  The Yellow Trail is shared with snowmobilers so use caution in the winter.  A portion of the Pond Trail (white blazes) is on privately owned property so please be courteous and stay on marked trails in that area.  Boundary signs are evident.  Conceptual plans are in effect to expand the trail system.

Natural Features:  The property contains areas of forested wetlands which makes some of the trails seasonably unpassable.

History:  The property was formerly the Town Municipal Landfill.
