Location, Parking:  Access is via Mast Road. Look for the blue boat launch sign off Lowell Farm Rd. That road branches to the left, leading to the launch parking lot.

Property Description:  The Highland Lake boat launch is a state-owned facility on the south end of the lake. Only boats that can be carried in can be launched there.

Natural Features:  This area of the lake is very shallow and weedy by mid-summer. Once in the water, go left through the narrows to get to the outlet dam. Loons, muskrats, geese, ducks, owls and many songbirds can be seen in all areas of the lake. This is also a popular fishing spot.

History:  The boat launch was established by the Maine Department of Conservation.

Allowable Uses:  Boat launch only.

Cautions:  Clean your boat before you float! Remove all plant fragments from boats, propellers, trailers, bait buckets, and anchors. Be sure your boat is free of any invasive aquatic plant species before launching. Even a small dried up fragment of some plants can trigger an aquatic invasion.
