Streetlight Conversion Process
This page has been created to provide information about the process to convert street lights that are located on shared use utility poles, owned by the utilities and leased to towns, to fixtures that can be owned and maintained by towns. A conversion from leased street lights to municipally owned street lights will:
- Create energy savings
- Allow more options for fixture selection and photometric design
- Significant cost savings (lease > own)
- Allow advanced fixture operations control options
- Greater flexibility with placement and removal
