Sustainable Business Recognition Program

To recognize Falmouth businesses who are making extraordinary contributions toward sustainability goals, the ecycling and Energy Advisory Committee has instituted an award to recognize businesses who have demonstrated outstanding commitment. In addition, businesses who are interested in becoming more sustainable, can look to award winners to learn from and understand how they can meet their own energy saving and sustainability goals. Pesticide and Fertilizer Ordinance

The Town has recently adopted a pesticide and fertilizer ordinance which requires any sole proprietor, or business entity whose use of pesticides and/or fertilizer is provided as a service for which compensation is received, to register before any applications are made and submit an annual usage report. Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Rebates

As the transition from gas- and diesel-powered vehicles to plug-in hybrid electric and fully eletric vehicles (EVs) gains momentum, there is increased focus on EV charging infrastructure to power these cars and trucks. Most EV users have charging stations at home, but when they are traveling or running errands, it's important that chargers are available to top off the battery. There are a handful of EV chargers across town - at Town Hall, the High School, and the Falmouth Memorial Library - but more infrastructure is needed to meet this demand.

EV chargers serve as an amenity to customers and staff, and can help to attract new business. They also show a commitment to the future and clean, renewable energy. If your business is interested in installing an EV charger, there are many resources and some rebates available.
