Summary
Order to authorize the Town Manager to negotiate a contract for the delivery of assessing services from Cumberland County.

Description
The Town of Falmouth is working with Cumberland County on a regional assessing option. This collaboration began when the Towns of Cumberland, North Yarmouth and Yarmouth lost its shared assessor to the Town of Scarborough. The Falmouth Assessor is retiring in June which coincides with the timing of this effort.
A presentation was offered to the Town Council on January 13. This agenda item is asking the Town Council to pass an order that would support the delivery of assessing services from Cumberland County. The order is not an approval of a final contract but will authorize the Town Manager to negotiate a contract and bring it back to the Town Council for final approval.
A copy of the presentation from the January 13 meeting is attached. An abbreviated presentation will be held on January 27.
