Review and discuss a report from Oak Point Associates regarding renovation options for the Mason Motz building.

Summary:

In December, the Town hired Oak Point Associates to conduct a facility assessment of Mason-Motz. The scope of work and final report identify several options that are short of complete renovation, focusing on code-mandated updates and autonomy of utilities while incorporating as many space and program-related enhancements possible within a reasonable budget. Oak Point Associates was asked to develop two alternates for realization of additional upgrades beyond code-compliance that would help to satisfy some program needs and move the Community Programs offices to the location.  These are proposed to be considered “bid alternates” beyond the base project in the future development of a construction bid package. 
Discussion of Oak Point Associates  facility assessment summary findings will be the focus.
Funding for final design and preparation for bidding will be necessary if the Town Council chooses to proceed with this project.  The next agenda item is an order for the Town Council to consider which will provide funding for final design and bid preparation.
A copy of a summary report from the Community Programs Director and Oak Point Associates is attached which describes some of the building needs and options for renovation.
