Summary
Order to authorize the Town Manager to execute a Municipal-State agreement with the Maine Department of Transportation regarding long-term ownership and maintenance responsibilities associated with street lighting, bicycle and pedestrian amenities on the Martins Point Bridge.

Action: Council action is anticipated.
Summary:
The State of Maine has fully funded the reconstruction of a new bridge connecting Martins Point in Portland with the Town of Falmouth. The design process included input from a citizen appointed committee from both communities. That design process led to the incorporation of lighting, bicycle and pedestrian amenities that will need to be maintained by the Town of Falmouth and the City of Portland.
A copy of the agreement is attached. A separate agreement between the City of Portland and the Town of Falmouth is also necessary and will be considered by the Town Council in the next agenda item.
