Summary
Order to authorize the Town Manager to enter into a contract with Cumberland County regarding assessing services in Falmouth.

Summary:
The Town of Falmouth has worked with Cumberland County and the towns of Cumberland and Yarmouth on a model to deliver assessing services through Cumberland County operations. This collaboration began when the Towns of Cumberland, North Yarmouth and Yarmouth lost its shared assessor to the Town of Scarborough. The Falmouth Assessor is retiring in June which coincides with the timing of this effort.
A presentation was offered to the Town Council on January 13. On January 27, the Town Council approved an order that authorized the Town Manager to negotiate a contract with Cumberland County and bring it back to the Town Council for final approval.
The following documents are attached: presentation from the January 13 meeting, contract for service and a letter from the Town Attorney that describes how services from Cumberland County will not be in conflict with the Town Charter.
