Description

In 2014 the Town Council assigned the Long-Range Planning Committee and the Community Development Committee the task of beginning the implementation of the land use strategies in the 2013 Comprehensive Plan.  These committees will present their final recommendations for Year 1. The tasks this year focused on defining the Rural and Growth Areas and developing recommendations that would result in the majority of growth occurring in the Growth Areas over the next 10 years.

The final report contains policy recommendations including finalization of the Rural and Growth Areas as this affects the recommended zoning changes and giving open space in the Rural Areas prioritization for conservation.  It also includes a series of recommended zoning changes that include adjustments to the growth cap (residential growth permits), changes to the standards for accessory dwelling units (ADU) in the Growth Area, changes to multi-family setbacks in the Growth Area, creating new zoning districts in Growth areas that are currently zoned Farm and Forest, and adjustments to lot size, density and single family setbacks in various districts in the Growth Area.  The CDC and LPAC request the Council approve the land use policy recommendations for implementation.

Included in the packet are the CDC/LPAC Final Report and Recommendations, CDC/LPAC Recommendations Summary, Outreach Notes, and the PowerPoint Presentation.

A revised presentation has been added on April 27 to clarify certain slides.

A revised report and recommendations summary were added on April 27 to correct an ADU error.
