Summary
Site walk at the Plummer School to review Oceanview's proposed master plan amendments and building renovation plans, which include landscaping on the Village Green, a transfer of a portion of the Village Green from the Town to Oceanview, a proposed senior center and senior apartments in the Plummer building, and senior cottages on abutting properties that Oceanview recently acquired.
A public comment period will not be included with this item.
ACTION: Council action is not anticipated.
Description
On April 13, 2015, representatives from Oceanview made a presentation to the Council regarding proposed amendments to the Master Plan approved by the Council in 2012.
OceanView would like to amend the Master Plan to allow senior housing in the former Plummer school building and expand that building onto a portion of the Town-owned Village Green. It is also proposing to enhance the Village Green in a manner that includes improvements not originally planned. Finally, it is requesting that the Master Plan also allow additional cottage units on three newly acquired parcels along Middle Road and that teh Town of Falmouth take responsibility for building a Middle Road sidewalk from Lunt Road to Blueberry Lane and for installing pedestrian lighting on Lunt Road.
Oceanview is further proposing to create a Senior Center, available to Falmouth residents and programmed by the Town of Falmouth, within the Plummer building, a use that is included in the 2012 Master Plan.
