Description
OceanView is exploring the renovation and use of, and possible addition to, the former Plummer School for Affordable Senior Housing. OceanView is also interested to explore the potential role that the Town might have in that project.
At the Town Council meeting on August 10, 2015, the Town Council discussed what role the Town may have with the affordability aspect of the project. The Town Council was also asked about whether it would consider transferring approximately 1/3 of an acre, currently part of the “Green” between the former Lunt and Plummer Schools. The Town Council requested OceanView submit a rendering that could help them better understand the building mass and appearance from Lunt Road. OceanView has completed the renderings, which are attached. OceanView has also requested that the Town Council consider a decision about a property transfer this fall so that they can begin design and permitting for a project that will either include or not include the additional land.
Future discussions about the Town’s role with affordability aspects of the project could resume at a later date and not be dependent on whether additional land is transferred to OceanView from the Town.
