Summary
Resolution to support federal action at the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21) in Paris in December, 2015.

ACTION: Council action is anticipated.
Description
This December, world leaders will convene in Paris for COP21, the 21st annual meeting of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The 195 member countries of the UNFCCC are expected to adopt a new agreement that will set forth the objectives, rules, and country contributions that the world needs to address climate disruption beginning in 2020.
The attached resolution and letter from the Council Chair will be bundled with letters from municipal leaders and mayors from all over the state and forwarded to the White House and President Obama to show support for productive negotiations at the Conference.
