Summary

Update on the Mill Creek pump station replacement and force mains projects, an Order to authorize the Town’s General Obligation Bonds to finance the replacement of the Mill Creek Pump Station and installation of force sewer mains, and an Order to appropriate funds from the Town’s Wastewater Enterprise Fund to finance a portion of the costs of these projects.

A public comment period will be included with this item (3 minutes).

ACTION: Council action is anticipated.

Description

The Mill Creek Pump station was constructed in 1981. It and its associated force mains are scheduled for replacement and reconstruction in 2015 and 2016. Waste Water Superintendent Pete Clark and Engineer Chris Dwinal of Wright-Pierce will offer a presentation on the two projects, the estimated construction costs and the bid results, and will discuss the resulting impact on user fees. 

The Council will be asked to take action on two orders.  The first would authorize the Town’s General Obligation Bonds to finance the replacement of the Mill Creek Pump Station and installation of force sewer mains, and the second would appropriate funds from the Town’s Wastewater Enterprise Fund to finance a portion of the costs of these projects.
