Summary
Introduction of an amendment to the Zoning and Site Plan Review Ordinance to permit off-premise signs in the Business Professional District where egress to a lot is located off-premise.
A public comment period will not be included.
ACTION: Schedule public hearing.
Description
The current ordinance prohibits off-premise signs in the BP District but allows them in other districts as long as they are associated with access to the property. Staff have prepared an amendment to allow off-premise signs where access to a property is located off-premise. This will serve the town’s interest in providing adequate visibility for the business community and protecting the town’s visual character.
Attached are a letter of introduction from Councilor McBrady, the proposed amendment language, and a memo from town staff.
