Summary

Presentation by Princeton Properties of a proposed expansion of the Foreside Estates apartment complex on Clearwater Drive and need for a zoning amendment.

A public comment period will not be included.

Description

The Foreside Estates project consisting of 170 one and two bedroom apartments was built in the 1970's. It was acquired in 2006 by Princeton Properties. Princeton contacted the Town last August with its interest to do infill development and add 72 apartments in 3 new buildings. Representatives of Princeton Properties have since reached out to abutters, met with the Community Development Commitee to discuss the proposed project, and refined the proposed layout.

The original development was located in the Garden Apartment District which has since been discontinued. The property was subsequently included in the Residential B district. The existing density of the project exceeds the Residential B density maximum. A zoning amendment will be required for this project to proceed.

They will be at the Council meeting to provide a presentation which will review the existing development, proposed expansion, and explain the need for a zoning amendment to make the expansion possible. Princeton requests feedback and direction from the Council.
