Presentation of an award from the Maine Association of Planners (MAP) for the 2016 Falmouth Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan as “Plan of the Year.”

Description
The 2016 Falmouth Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan was selected as “Plan of the Year” by the Maine Association of Planners (MAP). This annual award goes to a “written plan that is a significant advancement to the science and art of planning.” The plan was judged on the criteria of originality, transferability, quality, comprehensiveness, public participation, and implementation. MAP President Carol Eyerman, Planner with the Town of Topsham, will present the award at the Council meeting. The award consists of a silver bowl with engraved plaques that Falmouth will hold for the next nine months along with a plaque that the Town gets to keep.
The plan was prepared by Theo Holtwijk, Lucky D'Ascanio, Jay Reynolds, Bob Shafto, with assistance from consultants VHB and Sarah Cushman Transportation Consulting as well as input from many town residents and stakeholders.
