Summary
Council discussion on recent referendum to allow recreational marijuana and a possible moratorium.
A public comment period will not be included with this item.
ACTION: Council action is not anticipated.
Description
The state is currently recounting a referendum question that would legalize recreational marijuana. Some communities are passing a moratorium on certain allowed uses including social clubs, retail establishments, and cultivation. Staff will be available to discuss the pros and cons to consideration of a moratorium as well as the current status at the state level. A memo from Code Enforcement Officer Justin Brown is attached.
