Summary
Public Hearing on an amendment to the Code of Ordinances to establish a licensing process for the permitting of farmers' markets.

Description
The Ordinance Committee was assigned this task in the 2016 Council Work Plan in an effort to develop regulations to permit farmers’ markets. The current market has existed for some years on both private and public land without a permitting process. The final recommendation includes the development of an ordinance that gives the Council authority to license farmers’ market for temporary use of land. The establishment of this ordinance requires amendments to other sections of the Code of Ordinances. Please refer to the summary memo for a detailed explanation of the committee conclusions and the various amendments recommended.
The Planning Board's MRA hearing for this item has been scheduled for April 4.
