Summary
Ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances to establish a licensing process for the permitting of farmers' markets and to amend the Land Use Fee Schedule.
A public comment period will not be included with this item as public comment was taken at an earlier date.

Description
The Ordinance Committee was assigned this task in the 2016 Council Work Plan in an effort to develop regulations to permit farmers’ markets. The current market has existed for some years on both private and public land without a permitting process. The final recommendation includes the development of an ordinance that gives the Council authority to license farmers’ market for temporary use of land. The establishment of this ordinance requires amendments to other sections of the Code of Ordinances. Please refer to the summary memo for a detailed explanation of the committee conclusions and the various amendments recommended.
The Planning Board, in its capacity as the Town Municipal Review Authority, conducted a public hearing at its meeting on April 4. A memo detailing the hearing and the Board's recommendation is attached.
