Road construction barricade

Updated January 31: No closures will take place tonight, Tuesday, January 31.

Updated January 27:  Please note the following schedule change. January 27 work will not take place. Closures will resume on Sunday, January 29, Tuesday, January 31, Wednesday February 1, and if necessary, Friday, February 3.

Due to the storm earlier this week and the storm expected tonight, January 25, the utility work that was scheduled to take place this week on the Bucknam Road Bridge Project has been extended into Thursday and Friday night, January 26 and 27. These series of short closures will occur for both northbound and southbound lanes of I-295 between 10:00pm and 5:00am. Once again, Maine State Police will facilitate the closures which will last no longer than 25 minutes. Advance warning will be posted on message boards to allow traffic to exit the interstate prior to the closure area.

Two additional short night closures between 10pm and 5am will also be required. One is scheduled for Wednesday, February 1. The second date is to be determined. This should complete the installation of all new utilities crossing I-295. Additional short closures for future for work, such as removal of existing steel beams and erection of new steel beams, will be communicated in future updates in advance of the work.
