UPDATE: Upcoming Overnight Closures Scheduled for Bucknam Road and I-295 Ramps

UPDATE: August 23, 2023 (12:00pm): MaineDOT has revised the previously scheduled closures. There will be no I-295 Ramp closures this week. Bucknam Rd. will continue to be closed tonight and tomorrow night (August 23 and 24) between 10pm and 5am. Next week, the I-295 SB ramp and Bucknam Rd. will be closed between 10pm and 5am and Monday thru Thursday both the I-295, NB and SB ramps will be closed between 10pm and 5am. This is to accommodate the final roadwork and paving at these two intersections going into the Labor Day holiday weekend. See updated schedule below. 

UPDATE August 22, 2023 (9:00am): After last night’s work there will be no need to close the I-295 Southbound Ramp tonight, August 22. However, Bucknam Road will be closed as it has been the last two nights from 10:00pm until 5:00am. See updated schedule below. 

As part of the Bucknam Road Bridge Replacement Project, MaineDOT will close Bucknam Road between the I-295 southbound and northbound intersections on Sunday night, August 20, and Monday night, August 21 between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am. This work will accommodate the reconstruction of the intersection with Rich Way and the I-295 southbound ramp. 

Additionally, the I-295 Exit 10 southbound on and off ramps will be closed on Tuesday night, August 22, Wednesday night, August 23, and Thursday night, August 24 between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am. A signed detour will be utilized and advance warning will be posted on Variable Message Signs North of the Project to allow traffic to utilize Exit 15. 

There will be additional overnight closures of Bucknam Road and the I-295 ramps the week of August 28 as outlined in the below table.
