Maine Arbor Day Activities

As the grand finale of Falmouth’s 2022 Neighborhood Clean-up Week, please consider celebrating Arbor Week by taking part in Falmouth's Arbor Day activities! These are open to all community volunteers who would like to help clean up Falmouth’s Community Park apple orchard from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21. Please bring gloves, clippers, and loppers!

Furthermore, in celebration of Maine Arbor Day and in support of Falmouth's participation in the Tree City USA program, the Conservation Commission will be planting a Spitzenburg apple tree near the compost station on the right as you enter Community Park. The tree planting will take place at 12:00 noon. This highly respected American apple variety was rumored to be Thomas Jefferson's favorite apple and, like the other Community Park orchard trees, is a heritage apple.
