Communities in Action: Falmouth Public Forum on Addiction and Addressing Opioid Misuse
Address
Please join Falmouth Town leaders and Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG) for a public forum to expand our understanding of the opioid misuse problem, connect with those working to address the problem locally, and contribute to action planning for Falmouth.
As the regional planning agency for Cumberland County, GPCOG is dedicated to helping its member communities achieve things together that they cannot do by themselves. GPCOG is working with Falmouth and other members to address the opioid misuse problem with comprehensive local and regional approaches. In January, Falmouth town leadership, including key staff, town councilors, and school board members, participated in a workshop sponsored by GPCOG where they expanded their understanding of the opioid misuse problem, learned about effective strategies for addressing the problem, and began to create an action plan for the town.
During the public forum, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the problem and hear from local people who are working to address the issue in Falmouth. The public will also have the opportunity to contribute to Falmouth’s Town Action Plan and sign up to get involved.
