Location, Parking:  The property abuts the City of Portland's Ocean Avenue dog park located at the landfill that can be accessed off Ocean Avenue. There is no public parking on the property. Park on the shoulder of Ledgewood Drive, Charlotte Drive or in the dog park.
 
Description:  This 17-acre property is located on the Western side of Ledgewood Drive approximately ½ mile from the intersection of Ledgewood Road and Middle Road. A series of improved trails (<1/3 mile) lead from a meadow on Ledgewood Drive and connect with a trail from the Ocean Avenue dog park, located under the CMP power lines in the rear of the property. The terrain is largely flat and contains some streams, densely wooded areas, and a meadow. Trails are marked with white blazes and there is a bridge connecting to the Ocean Avenue dog park along with several smaller bridges to pass wet areas under the power lines.

 

Natural Features:  A secondary growth forest dominated by pine and hemlock. Several small wetland areas throughout the property and one brook on the rear boundary. A 3-acre open meadow with mowed path is located along Ledgewood Drive.
 
History:  This property was acquired by the Falmouth Land Trust in the past decade.
 
Allowable Uses:  Hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and nature study are all allowed. Motorized vehicles are prohibited. The area is not handicapped accessible.
