Summary
Order to approve a supplemental appropriation and transfer in the amount of $22,400 from the Open Space Reserve Fund for stewardship fees payable to the Falmouth Land Trust, and for the baseline documentation of three donated easement properties associated with North Falmouth Community Forest.

Description
On March 10, 2014, the Town Council voted in favor of the Town Manager and Town staff moving forward with two grant proposals for the acquisition of 4 properties adjacent to North Falmouth Community Forest. The Town was awarded both the Land for Maine’s Future Grant and the United States Forest Service grant. The Town must assign easements to another entity and this request for supplemental appropriation is to compensate the Falmouth Land Trust for their stewardship of three donated easement properties ($20,000) as well as funds for the baseline documentation of the three easement properties ($2,400) associated with North Falmouth Community Forest.
Attached is a map of the acquired properties, a staff memo with background information from the March 10, 2014 Town Council meeting and an updated budget which outlines the Town’s share for the acquisition of the four properties.
