Summary
Order for a supplemental appropriation from the OceanView and Natural Gas TIF in the amount of $85,000 for expenses related to the celebration of the Town’s 300th anniversary of its incorporation.

Description
The Town Council approved an order to accept the Tercentennial Committee’s final report at the Town Council meeting on May 9, 2016. The final report is attached. The Town Council was informed at that meeting that there would be a future request for funding some tasks and projects associated the 300th anniversary. Funding is now required to continue to make progress with this project. Staff is requesting a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $85,000 for FY2017 with funds to come from a Tax Increment Finance (TIF) account. The OceanView and Natural Gas TIF development plan specifically identifies costs associated with community events and it is this TIF account that staff proposes to use to fund the FY2017 funding request. FY2018 expenses will be requested later this fall when the Council considers a new Capital Improvement and Tax Increment Financing Development Plan. The expenses requested for FY2017 include funding to pay the part time Tercentennial Coordinator, marketing, logo development, multi-media history project, grants program for partner organizations, and miscellaneous expenses.
