Update on the Town’s plans to celebrate Earth Day’s 50th anniversary in 2020 and possible involvement by the FEIC

The Town of Falmouth plans to celebrate Earth Day’s 50th anniversary, along with the Maine Bicentennial celebration, in 2020. An ad hoc advisory committee has been formed with representatives from the Conservation Commission, REAC, as well as Maine Audubon Society. The plan is to create an entire month of events from the end of April, through the end of May to celebrate these two big milestones. The ad hoc committee is in very early planning stages, but is hoping there is some interest from the FEIC to engage our business community into this effort. No details have been ironed out quite yet, but the committee is thinking that this could be accomplished perhaps through some levels of sponsorships. The committee also welcomes any other ideas by FEIC.
