Summary

Order to approve and adopt the updated Town of Falmouth Emergency Operations Plan dated July 1, 2016.

A public comment period will be included (3 minutes).

ACTION: Council action is anticipated.

Description

Falmouth Emergency Management (Falmouth EMA) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Town's Emergency Operations Plan and has spent the past several months reviewing and updating it. The current plan was developed in accordance with existing local, state, and federal statues, follows a format used by Cumberland County Emergency Management, and was approved and adopted by the Town Council on May 19, 2008. Any changes or modifications to the plan must be made with the coordination and approval of the Town Council. 

Our plan is meant to serve as a desk reference for town leaders to use in the event of an emergency. Eighteen (18) copies of the plan will be disseminated across the town in key locations.  These key recipients are asked to review the plan, be familiar with its contents, and to advise the Director of Emergency Management if improvements are recommended. Falmouth EMA is now asking the Town Council to approve and adopt the updated plan. A copy is attached.
