Summary
Resolution to authorize the construction of landscape improvements at the Town Green and to authorize up to $15,000 from Contingency Funds toward the expenses for this project.

Description
The Town Green is a Town-owned property located off Lunt Road between the former Plummer-Motz and Lunt schools. It is subject to an amended development agreement between the Town and OceanView that was approved on May 9, 2016. OceanView has worked with Town staff to prepare a proposed landscape plan for the Town Green. The landscape plan follows the intent of the Council-approved Master Plan for this site. Staff reviewed the proposed plan with the Conservation Commission, Parks and Community Programs Advisory Committee, and Senior Citizen Advisory Committee. All are in favor of the proposed improvements.
In the amended development agreement OceanView committed up to $35,000 for this project. The anticipated cost for the proposed landscaping is $49,360. Staff recommends that the scope of the plan not be scaled back to meet the $35,000 commitment, but recommends that the Council:
- give its authorization for the proposed landscape plan to be constructed, and
- authorize a Town contribution of up to $15,000 for this project.
