Summary

Discussion of process for Council to address zoning policy options related to the Resource Conservation Overlay Zoning District and other matters related to density in residential districts.

A public comment period will not be included with this item.

ACTION: Council action is not anticipated.

Description

The Council will discuss its options for assigning the task of addressing identified issues with density in residential districts as allowed under ordinance amendments adopted in July 2016.

Staff recommends that the party that is assigned to undertake this task review the following:

  • the policy direction contained in the 2013 Comprehensive Plan,
  • the Year 1 Concept recommendations prepared by the Long Range Planning Advisory Committee in February 2015,
  • the Resource Conservation Zoning District Overlay recommendations prepared by the Long Range Planning Advisory Committee in November 2016,
  • the zoning amendments adopted by the Council in July 2016,
  • the development proposals received by the Town since adoption of the 2016 zoning amendments, and
  • the feedback received from the public.
