Description

On August 28, 2017, Barney Baker of Baker Design Consultants of Freeport provided an update to the Council on a project to replace the floats at Town Landing (click here to review the agenda item).  The project was designed to proceed in phases and take several years to implement. The first phase was scheduled for completion prior to the 2018 boating season.

In October 2017, the harbor suffered heavy damage from the windstorm and all the floats at the landing were destroyed. The Town must now replace all the floats this year.

The Town issued a request for bids and received 4 proposals.

The project includes the replacement of the floats, the addition of 5 new floats, and repairs to the moorings that tie down the floats. Along with this supplemental appropriation, the project will be funded by the SHIP grant, the Town's CIP, and insurance proceeds received as a result of the windstorm.
