Summary

Public Hearing and Order relative to a new license for the Cumberland Farmers’ Market Association to establish a summer and winter market.

A public comment period will be included (5 minutes per person).

ACTION: Council action is anticipated.

Description

The Cumberland Farmers’ Market Association has submitted an application under Article II-8-14 of the ordinance for two locations for their farmers’ market.  The summer market would be located at the Town-owned Village Park property where the market previously operated in past years. The winter market would continue to be operated in the current location at Allen, Sterling and Lothrup on Route One.  

As required, the application has been reviewed by all applicable reviewing departments, including Fire, Police, Wastewater, Public Works, and Community Development.  Staff reviews raised no concerns with the proposal. The draft license agreement is substantially identical to the agreement approved by the council last year.
