Order to rescind Order 60-2020, approved at the November 25, 2019 Council meeting, to transfer $65,000 from the Street Improvement CIP Fund to the Public Works Vehicle CIP Fund.

Description

At the November 25, 2019 Council meeting, the Council approved three orders to adjust/transfer funds regarding the FY2020 budget. The second order, Order 60-2020 was to transfer $65,000 from the Street Improvement CIP Fund to the Public Works Vehicle CIP Fund due to $65,000 in unanticipated price increases on a sweeper purchased in FY2019 and a dump truck purchased in FY2020. Staff incorrectly stated at the meeting that the dump truck had not yet been purchased. It was determined after the meeting that the dump truck had been purchased and that an additional purchase of a front end loader resulted in a near negative balance in the Public Works Vehicle CIP Fund. Staff have addressed the funding need internally by moving $17,000 from contingency funds and delaying the purchase of a vehicle to replace the Town Engineer’s truck until the next budget cycle. At this meeting, the Council will consider an order to rescind order 60-2020.
