Curbside Collection Schedule

UPDATE April 12, 2024: Trash/Recycling collection will take place as usual on Patriots' Day, Monday, April 15. Place carts curbside by 7am to ensure collection.

Falmouth offers weekly curbside trash and recycling collection Monday-Friday. Yellow "Town" Trash bags can be purchased from Hannaford, Shaw's, Town Landing Market, and Waldo's General Store. Falmouth relies on the sale of these bags to fund trash and recycling collection and disposal.

Casella, formerly known as Pine Tree Waste Systems, is the Town’s trash and recycling hauler.  The Town has contracted with Casella for curbside collection only.  If you wish to have back door service, you must make arrangements with them directly at 1-888-857-0800 and pay an additional fee.

If you receive a blue tag and your trash/recyclables were not picked up, please contact Casella directly with questions (883-9777).

Holiday Collection Schedules: Holiday trash/recycling collection can vary. If your day of collection falls on a holiday (including New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day), collection for that week is usually moved to Saturday, however, this is not always the case. Monday holidays, (such as MLK, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Veterans Day) do not normally result in a change to the collection schedule. However, this can vary as well. In some cases, a holiday may impact the entire week's schedule. We alert residents to collection schedule changes via E-alerts, social media, and ads in The Forecaster. Consult our website home page, social media, or The Forecaster. To get the most convenient and accurate information regarding news from the Town, subscribe to email alerts. Visit www.falmouthme.org/subscribe and choose "Town News and Announcements" E-alerts. 

Inclement Weather: Casella rarely cancels collection due to weather. A school snow day does not impact trash collection. If collection is postponed due to severe weather, every effort will be made to inform residents of schedule changes via the Town’s Website, E-Alerts, Social Media, and the Public Works Voice Mail message. Contact the Public Works Office for details at 781-3919.
