Summary

Order to endorse three paving projects in the PACTS 2016-18 Work Program.

ACTION: Council action is anticipated.

Description

The regional transportation agency, PACTS, distributes funding support for eligible transportation projects in the Greater Portland area on a multi-year basis. In order to be eligible for PACTS funding, collector roads that are candidates for paving through PACTS require Council endorsement. Three paving projects have been identified as eligible for PACTS funding support in the 2016-18 funding cycle through a region-wide pavement condition analysis performed by PACTS. They are:

  • US Route 1: From the Martin’s Point Bridge to Route 88,
  • US Route 1: Through the Route 88 Islands; and 
  • US Route 1: From Bucknam Road to the Cumberland Town Line.

Funding for PACTS collector road projects are as follows: Federal Match: 65%, State Match: 10%, and Local Match: 25%
