Summary
Ordinance to amend Section 19-18 of the Zoning and Site Plan Review Ordinance relative to expanding the applicability of the Resource Conservation Zoning Overlay District (RCZO) to two-family and multi-family development.
A public comment period will not be included with this item as public comment was taken at an earlier date.
ACTION: Council action is anticipated.
Description
These proposed amendments implement one of the recommendations suggested by LPAC in November 2016 relative to expanding the applicability of the RCZO District to two- and multi-family housing types. (Currently, the RCZO requirements only apply to single family housing.) As one component of these amendments, staff have taken the opportunity to make minor administrative changes to the RCZO District language (Sections 19-18.1 - RCZO applicability, and 19-18.2 - Coordination with the Underlying Zone) to update terminology and to simplify, and improve the clarity of, the ordinance.
These amendments were introduced at the January 22, 2018 Town Council meeting and a public hearing was held at the Council’s February 26, 2018 meeting. Attached are the ordinance amendment introduction letter, a summary of the Planning Board’s MRA Hearing, and the proposed ordinance language.
