In 2015, the Ad Hoc Route 100 Committee developed the Route 100 Vision Plan.  Among other things, this Plan charted a vision for the Route 100 area that encompassed roadway and traffic improvements, bicycle and pedestrian amenities, and zoning and land use changes.  The Town Council’s Work Plan for 2017-2018 assigned to the Community Development Committee (CDC) the task of reviewing the Route 100 Vision Plan’s proposed zoning recommendations.  Over the past several months, the CDC has been reviewing the Vision Plan’s zoning recommendations, as well as reviewing general zoning issues along the Route 100 corridor, and the CDC would like to update the Council on its work completed to-date and on its recommendations for moving forward. 

Attached are the following:

• A 7-page excerpt from the Route 100 Vision Plan that describes the Route 100 Committee’s general vision for land use along Route 100 as well as specific zoning/land use recommendations made by the Committee;
• A table that summarizes the CDC’s recommendations to-date.  This table contains three columns.  The column titled “Vision Plan Reference” makes reference, where applicable, to a specific recommendation in the Route 100 Vision Plan.  (e.g. The heading “DS1” references the Vision Plan’s first recommendation under the section “Dimensional Standards”)  In instances where the CDC is making a new recommendation that was not included in the Vision Plan this column is populated with “N/A”.  The second column in the table describes whether the CDC is recommending to implement a suggestion from the Vision Plan with no changes, recommending to implement a suggestion from the Vision Plan with revisions, recommending taking no action on a Vision Plan suggestion, or recommending that additional discussion is warranted on an item.
