"SERVING THE TOWN OF FALMOUTH SINCE 1913"
Falmouth Fire-EMS responds to nearly 2,000 emergencies each year. We are a combination Fire-EMS department made up of four fulltime staff, ninety call firefighters and emergency medical technicians, and fifteen part-time firefighter/paramedics. The Fire-EMS Headquarters is located at Central Fire Station at 8 Bucknam Road and our business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.. to 4:30 p.m.. During the daytime hours we are staffed with the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, EMS Captain/Paramedic, and an Office Administrator who is also a Firefighter/EMT. In addition, the department employs one per diem firefighter/paramedic and one per diem firefighter/EMT who staff an ambulance at Central Fire Station seven days a week, 24 hours per day. Our per diem firefighters are often assisted by volunteer EMT's who also cover shifts from the station or from home. We rely heavily on our dedicated staff of volunteer/on-call firefighters and EMT’s to respond to emergencies and staff our apparatus.
Falmouth Fire-EMS provides on call emergency services from three stations. Each station is commanded by a Captain, and each apparatus has an assigned Lieutenant and a crew. Our three ambulances combine to run over 1,000 medical calls each year. We do provide stand-by at numerous events each year including soccer tournaments, professional golf tournaments, home high school football games, cross country meets, and the Maine Marathon.
Falmouth Fire-EMS has been proudly serving the Town of Falmouth since the Foreside Fire Company responded to its first fire call in 1913. Joined soon by the Central Fire Company in 1922, the Pleasant Hill Fire Company in 1923 and lastly the West Falmouth Fire Company in 1925, our members have provided continuous service to the Town for over 100 years. The member of today continue the tradition of taking great pride in providing outstanding customer service to our community and we look forward to our next 100 years.
