2016-18 Open Space Plan Update Work

The 2016-18 assigment for LPAC is to prepare recommendations for an update to the 2006 Open Space Plan (The Greening of Falmouth). For this assignment, LPAC was expanded to LPAC+ and includes Open Space Manager (Amanda Stearns), representatives from the Land Management and Acquisitions Committee (Ted Asherman, Dave Gagnon), Parks and Community Programs Committee (Lucky D'Ascanio), Conservation Commission (Sarah Boudreau), and Falmouth Land Trust (Jenny Grimm, Michael Vance). Below is information related to this assignment. The LPAC minutes also provide useful information.

In fall 2017 the Long Range Planning Advisory Committee (LPAC) gathered opionions on open space issues in Falmouth. 458 responses were received. The survey was part of LPAC's work to develop an update to the 2006 Greening of Falmouth plan. Its results are being used as a public perspective on the themes and priorities of the new plan.

The survey results are available in the following formats:

  • Falmouth Conservation Corps  (information on how you can help build trails, keep our rivers navigable, create educational materials (print/video), control invasive species, conduct natural resource inventories, and otherwise help manage our town-owned open space properties)
