The Land Management and Acquisitions Committee recommends the approval of an order to authorize the fee purchase of 1.25 acres of land to secure permanent trail rights between Community Park and Town Forest, a segment of the Cross Falmouth Corridor. This matter was discussed by the Council in executive session on February 25, 2019 and in public session March 11, 2019. At the March 11th meeting, the Town Council scheduled the order to authorize the purchase with a purchase and sale agreement, for March 25. The details and terms of the agreement were not yet ready for that meeting. Due to an oversight, the approval of the order was not re-scheduled and subsequently the purchase and sale agreement was executed out of order. Approval of the order will rectify the administrative error and allow the closing to proceed. Please find attached a staff memo with more details, including the original documents provided to the Council, the executed purchase and sale agreement, and the survey of the land to be purchased.
